Book Challenge. Challenge your family to read a certain number of books this summer. Offer a reward for meeting their goal! A few nights a week, check in on everyone’s progress. Ask them what they’re reading. Share your thoughts about your book, too.
You know what doesn't take long? Sending a quick text to your group. This is a small way you can show you're present for your kids, even if you're not physically there.
Write down or print off a Bible verse and place it on the front of the refrigerator. Whenever someone in the family opens its door, they have to recite the memory verse out loud.
Has one of your students ever shared a prayer request that affected their whole family? Use the Lead Small app to reach out to parents or guardians to say you're praying for them too!
The Bible does not give us an ideal picture of the family, but it does suggest that every father, mother, and child has a unique role in portraying God’s love to one another.
Being present for your few may look different these days, but our current circumstances just mean that we have to be a little more creative. And if you're sending postcards, it may also require a couple of postage stamps.
