ISTE has provided me with invaluable resources that make me a better educator! Excited to meet my fellow ISTE certified educators in New Orleans for ISTE 2022! @iste, #ISTEcert
@CovingtonEDU @cinehead Learning always wins - unless it’s the end of the quarter and grades are due. It really is quite the conundrum. My students are informed weekly of their grades and what learning is missing. I also have “study hall” several times a week where they can come see me for assistance.
@CommonSenseEd I love this lesson! My Kindergarten and 1st grade students were engaged and loved acting out the Pause, Breathe and Finish up steps. It’s so important to teach students that it is healthy to take a break from technology. #ISTE#digcit
@codebreakeredu Instead of typing practice, I gave my students a choice of essay topics to write about regarding their break experience. Anything from food they ate to shows they watched, travel, family, activities, New Years resolutions, etc. and promised I was the only one who would read them.
Thank you @CommonSenseEd for the amazing lesson on “STOP online meanness”. It hit home with some 3rd graders who reached out to me after class and thanked me because they were having problems with online bullying and didn’t know what to do before learning STOP. #ISTE#digitalcit
I’ve been getting questions lately. “Why are the kids playing #minecraft?” “What is the point of these games the students are playing?” This is my WHY I teach code! #iste#HourOfCode#code
There are many benefits of teaching computer science and coding to the youngest learners!

Trying something new this week - playing soothing, meditation background music I found on #youtube while students work in #code, #type, work on computer projects/assignments. Day 1 has been a success. Students were more focused and calm. #HourOfCode2020#SEL#ISTE
Inspired by #ISTE20 and introduced my K-1 students to #ScratchJr this week - amazing results! Day 2 of class - 1st graders were creating coded underwater worlds. Love the Scratch Jr desktop beta so I can share my screen and remain socially distanced. Kids love it!
I love using self-paced learning in my computer science classroom, and especially while working on coding. I have students at all levels and my more advanced students love to “teach” their classmates who are struggling. #istecert
"Self-paced learning boosts student confidence, supports social-emotional learning, and is kind of perfect for remote, hybrid, or hot mess teaching configurations. " @cultofpedagogy@Kareemfarah23 https://t.co/vtTfOh6Qrq
@iamkidpresident Thank you Kid President for your wonderful videos! While teaching “Kindness” to my K-8 students (with the help of your videos), we jumped on #socktober and collected 525 pairs of socks in 2 weeks for the homeless in our community! #iste#kindness
@mrlambt I attended the “Facilitating SEL in Remote, Blended & Traditional Learning Environments” webinar this morning. For HS, they suggested checking out https://t.co/uPyQWtXWtk.
