@jitendravyas yeah. new programming langauges will surely come, probably tailored for AI. But again, even they won't be able to evolve since there is no developer who would "code" in that language.
May be LLMs would be the one giving feedback on the programming languages.

I think programming languages are dead, as in there can't be any more innovation in programming languages. Here's why:

Improvement in programming languages happens when developers use programming language. They write code using that programming language. Throughout that process, they realize certain parts are good and certain parts are bad. Developers give feedback on all these, language team works on the feedback, specs are written and the language evolves.

But today, developers don't write code anymore. Reviewing code is also quickly vanishing. We don't see code anymore - means we don't know how the programming language is being used. What's great and what could have been better. We are just getting our work done with whatever state a language is in. We don't really need anything else from languages anymore (unless its a something significantly user facing, like performance).
We don't care, we are satisfied. And this only means one thing - programming languages will slowly cease to evolve. With just the language team being the only ones write code in that langugage, by hand!

imagine the situation where coding with AI becomes unavailable and you have to code by hand again!
Even if some of us will be capable, we wouldn't want to do. Just like quick commerce took away our patience, coding by hand will become equally unbearable!

so true. earlier we had some unknown code from packages. Now the whole software is an unknown package to developers!

IMO today you can only read AI generated code if you are still producing same quantity of code as preAI era. Otherwise there is no way one can read the enormous amount of code generated!
