Forget rugs. Forget scams. Forget bad tokenomics.
The real cancer in Web3 right now?
👉 IDO launchpad REFUND policies.
Let me explain why this POLICY is absolute garbage 👇
Just to clarify not every launchpad actually wants this policy.
Some of them are only having it because if they don’t, they lose deal flow to the ones that do.
Basically, it’s a race to stay “competitive,” but sadly it ends up screwing the whole market.
Refund policies don’t just protect launchpads and their investors, they’re poisoning the market.
If this keeps going, legit builders will keep bleeding out while the whole web3 industry drowns in trash.
👉 That’s the real rug.
If you've read this through the end, I would love to hear your take on it 👇
7/ Killing long-term commitment
When investors know they can refund, they stop thinking long-term. Why investing time in DD and participating in a launch with long-term mindset when you can just refund if it doesn’t work since day 1?
That mindset turns every IDO into a day trading lottery, and it leaves founders carrying all the risk.
Investors get a safety net, launchpads get their fees with no reputation damage, and legit builders get their long term vision wrecked along with their community funds.
It’s the opposite of what web3 building is supposed to be.
