@nmgarrard My daughter is 17 and just enjoyed a week of STEM at Fotzwilliam college Cambridge - doing access to kids from comprehensives. She’s got a part time job, is driving, and is a smart young woman. She has anxiety tho - I think with the right support our young woman can be brilliant
@nmgarrard I think it’s more nuanced than that. There’s poor access to mental health services, massive pressure from social media, poor prospects and wealth inequality, zero hours contracts, uncertainty, the growth of AI etc etc
@Gwenelope 1975 here. I think it will all be means tested by the time I get anywhere near it. I’d love to go part time but my two teenagers are close to going to uni so big expenses coming up
@nmgarrard So part of a level is around the sketchbooks, the maquettes where appropriate, research etc - it’s like doing maths without the working out - she could easily change that for next year and enjoy the research part - is this part of course work?
