Since Israel is in the news these days even more than ordinary, the relationship between biblical Israel and modern Israel comes up. Here is my explanation.

"If this world is everything, and if it’s on us to make the most of it, anxiety really does make sense...And I don’t know any way to get past it without the hope of heaven."

"Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." - Psalm 73:25-26

I thank God for CJ Mahaney who opened our Sovereign Grace Pastors Conference with a clear, pastoral, and helpful sermon from Philippians 3 entitled, “What Do We Do With Regret?”
On this Election Day, Christians, be encouraged by these truths:
1. This is not the “most important election of your lifetime”. Your election in Christ is.
2. Whatever happens today, it won’t catch God by surprise. Whoever wins is only because of God’s providential plan.
3. Our ultimate calling is to be an ambassador for Christ. Don’t let your rhetoric over a preferred political candidate ruin your witness for Jesus.
4. Trust in the Lord. No matter how bad this world gets, it’s as close to Hell as you’ll ever be, because Heaven is your home.
Three themes for the politically-anxious from the book of Revelation:
1. The dragon and his beast will make the nations rage against the Lamb until the end of the age.
No election will fix that.
2. The faithful members of Christ’s church will endure tribulation until the end of the age.
No election can fix that.
3. The church’s tribulation will turn to triumph at the end of the age because King Jesus has everlasting dominion over all and He is coming again.
No election can stop that.
