@JamesAFurey My department and I frequently have this convo. 3/4 of us have been teaching for over 20 years, and our teacher training did not include such strategies. We were trained to do literary analysis. I am lost as to how to help and desperately need new training!

@ModestTeacher I color code my handouts. Vocabulary is one color, grammar another, reading outlines, etc. Helps keep the kids organized. PS - I teach 10th grade ELA, and my students are DREADFUL at organizing and maintaining hardcopies, so I give them binders, as well! Power to the pen!!
