@tahlitahli@qldhealthnews @AnnastaciaMP Most of them are Australians trying to return home. Some have lost their jobs and homes overseas so moving home. Some went to see a dying loved one and haven't been able to make it back. The Australian government shouldn't abandon them just because they are overseas.
@qldhealthnews My husband and I have returned from the UK and are in hotel quarantine in Sydney. We will be released 30th December and need to make our way to our home in Qld. If we head straight to the airport from our hotel, will we still have to double quarantine? TIA
@ausgov my husband and I are in the UK returning home to Aus in 4 days. I have submitted our travel declarations but got an answer wrong in both so have had to delete and resubmit. Both declarations are still 'being deleted'. I need to submit by tomorrow! How long will this take?
It seems our concerns regarding changing details in registrations of stranded Australians overseas by @dfat has been heard!

#strandedAussies
This is how airplanes fly (a few of) us home now. Look at the numbers, both the ticket prices and the number of passengers. Flying with less than 30 people like this is unsustainable and unfair.

@KKeneally
@Joevafanculo @PippaOnTweeters @KKeneally @AustralianLabor@AuSenate@ScottMorrisonMP@removethecaps The view that returnees will bring back the virus is damaging. We need to test negative 48/72 hours before flying, are kept socially distant and safe during flight, have to test negative on arrival, day 2 or quarantine and day 10 of quarantine.
@Joevafanculo @PippaOnTweeters @KKeneally @AustralianLabor@AuSenate@ScottMorrisonMP@removethecaps Many of those who are stranded have had situations change in the 8 months since the govt imposed these border restrictions. Family in Australia become ill, they lose their jobs in the country they are living, or even just that this year has made them miss their families.
[1/3] That’s a very good question. There is obviously limited data still, but what you can definitely argue is that the contact points can be more limited than with hotel quarantine.
Just a few thoughts:
1. Rigoureus fast testing regime before and after travelling

It’s a very expensive publicity stunt that the victims will pay for in more than one way. With and added bonus bill of a few million for the tax payers. #RemoveTheCap
The flights announced today will still only get 1300 #strandedAussies home.
That leaves 28,000 stranded, forking out a fortune on airfares with no guarantee they’ll be home by Christmas.
This problem has been clear for months, but Scott Morrison has left Australians behind.
The number of #strandedAussies overseas has jumped to 29,100 people, as the Morrison Government continues to stall on delivering Federal action to get these people home faster. @KKeneally @CatherineKingMP
@9NewsAUS@9NewsSyd#strandedAussies need help getting home. We are asking @ScottMorrisonMP for empathy ahead of Friday’s #NationalCabinet meeting. These are challenging times for everyone, but those overseas feel abandoned. Help us see our children for Christmas 🙏🏻
Urgent support needed! ⚠️✈️
@ACIWorld & IATA have reinforced urgent call for govts to use #testing as a means to safely re-open borders and to prevent the systemic collapse of #aviation with financial support.
