Valerie Van-Dieman should not have medically transitioned, but they’ve already had vaginoplasty and it’s too late. We have to look at what went wrong, reinstitute medical safeguarding, and build a system willing to say, “No this is not what gender dysphoria looks like.”

Slate published a first-person piece by them. It’s meant to be sympathetic, but for anyone that understands the pathology of gender dysphoria it has every single red flag imaginable. It is a terrifying biography of the consequences of progressives dismantling all medical safeguarding for transsexualism.

Valerie Van-Dieman didn’t have early onset gender dysphoria or adolescent onset gender dysphoria. They didn’t think about being a woman until meeting a trans woman in their mid 20s talking about gender theory. Then one day watching a transition timeline they thought it would be fun.

This is not what clinical gender dysphoria looks like. The fact is, our clinicians are so captured by ideology they are not willing to stay so.

Not a day went by from 5-26 that I did not have obsessive thoughts about being a woman. I drew princesses like I was a xerox machine. I prayed to Jesus constantly to let me wake up as a girl. My personality was dedicated to trying to hide every feminine instinct. It’s that way for all actual transsexuals, persistent inescapable thoughts about being a woman.

The part of this story that is most horrifying is when they get vaginoplasty and then decide afterwards they’re not actually transexual. How did they get vaginoplasty? Because I had to do a deep dive with two additional therapists, one a literal psychiatrist , to make REALLY SURE I was an actual transsexual.

No one is willing to say the plain truth. Medial transition is an extreme step that should be reserved for extreme cases of gender dysphoria where there is no other solution. We have no evidence that it helps non-binary people, which is not even a medical concept. It’s a political one.

What really gets me is anyone with an even passing familiarity with gender dysphoria should have looked at her onset story and said, “No.” We’re destroying people’s bodies and setting them up for lives of neurosis where they don’t fit in anywhere.

We can’t claim that Trans healthcare is healthcare while also not applying any clinical criteria to who gets it.

I am a Democrat. I served in the Clinton administration. I did not vote for Donald Trump and am highly unlikely to support him or his acolytes in the future. I also have serious disagreements with many of the Trump administration’s domestic and foreign policies.

But it is profoundly disturbing that a growing segment of the far left appears to be almost rooting for Hamas, Hezbollah, the Iranian regime, and other forces fundamentally opposed to the United States and our allies. In 1492, Spain had one of the largest Jewish communities in the world.

Then Ferdinand and Isabella decided the Jews had to go. They gave them four months. Convert to Christianity or leave.

Spain thought it was purifying itself. What it actually did was export talent.

The refugees rebuilt their lives in places like Amsterdam and Istanbul, where their skills in finance, medicine, trade, and scholarship were welcomed. Those cities flourished.
