Post Cocoon Technology project was dedicated in two blocks of Mokokchung district - Chungtia & Sabangya. This project which encompasses skill training to 400 women will create post cocoon linkages from spinning, reeling, weaving to finished silk products with marketing support.
Nagaland has been at the forefront in Sericulture & was recently adjudged as Best Eri Producing State in the country. Continuing our efforts to support the state in developing sericulture, several projects for the state were inaugurated/launched from Chungtia village in Nagaland.
Project for Development of Bivoltine Sericulture launched in Wokha district of Nagaland is aimed at creating sustainable livelihood for women & encouraging pre-cocoon & post-yarn activities. Production of quality bivoltine silk will also help in reducing its import.
