The immigration process is very trialing to go through this lengthy legal process seems to just promote illegal immigration to avoid a lengthy process which is very expensive also all of these hoops lead to illegal immigration. #socl214

i learned that kids who had parents in were found much more likely to be at risk. a statistic that shocked me was for the sample of african american men who had dropped out of highschool there was a 70% chance they would end up incarcerated once #socl214

i learned that the history of suburbs stem from racist policies. in the video they tell how those in neighborhoods where minorities lived did not recieve housing loans compared to those who lived in suburb or white areas, this compounded over years #socl214

you could see the emotion from the speakers, i think this comes from a place of perpetuated beauty standards and trying to meet unrealistic standards it was nice to see how the speakers embraced their natural hair and all seemed to be very happy about their decision #socl214

@mmcknightt31 I agree with this completley many movies mentioned were shown depicted blacks as slaves or as apart of some white savior movie but black panther does an amazing job of black representation in a film without the racial messages like you mentioned #socl214

the video brought attention to me that the entire oscars nomimations was just white actors, showing a clear discrimination by hollywood. Another was the point about white savior complex in movies that depicted whites being the savior for blacks in movies #socl214
