We were visited by Environmental Health last week for an unannounced kitchen audit. We're delighted to report that our kitchen passed with flying colours and after the inspection, we were awarded a five star food hygiene rating, which we're now proudly displaying
You may have seen the new stone wall appearing at the bottom of our drive. The wall is being built by Ray and Peter from the Northumbrian branch of the Dry Stone Walling Association and will be the base of a brand new sign, to replace the old white board. More pics as it happens!

Last week our residents enjoyed an afternoon making Christmas decorations out of festive paper, ribbons and fabric. They had a busy time and enjoyed a chat and cuppa whilst they crafted. Margaret told us "I love making things like this, especially for Christmas".

We have begun daily coffee sessions in our upstairs and downstairs lounges, which are a great chance for our residents to meet, chat, and enjoy a home baked biscuit and slice of cake. These coffee sessions will be held every day, and are open to all residents.
Congratulations to our lovely resident Jimmy, who celebrated his 90th birthday last week. He enjoyed a wonderful party with friends and family sitting outside in the sunshine and loved opening his cards and presents.

Our Trustee Maureen took part in last week's Great North Run, to raise funds for our Respite Care Bed. She managed to complete the course in 2 hours and 28 minutes and raised over £500 for our charity. She says "Thank you for all who have supported me. It was a great day!"
