Yesterday's city council meeting wasn't QUITE what we hoped for, but things are still constantly happening. Take action with us and @chi_streets this week

Another day, another rush hour with no Forest Park blue lines in sight.
Have seen the dreaded ❕far too often lately. @cta needs to get its act together fast!
The CTA doubling its rail operator training slots is no small news! What was the impact of the previous 100-employee cap on rail operations? Resurfacing this @Chicago_Reader piece for no reason in particular: https://t.co/Q9que34JLh
@cta must improve working conditions for its employees before it can hope to attract workers and restore pre-pandemic service reliability @reemasabrina@SouthSideWeekly
For @SouthSideWeekly, I spent a lot of time interviewing transit workers, activists, and experts on what it's like to work at the CTA these days and what's contributed to burnout and workforce shortages since the pandemic. 🖊️

Join us for a free screening of 'Derailed', a DePaul student led documentary digging into what drove the CTA to its current state.
Following the premier will be a Q&A with the films participants, including a few Commuters Take Action organizers.
Big news here, everyone should attend this rally. A 24% cut in L service since 2020 is absolutely unacceptable! The city is relying on our apathy / disinterest to maintain the status quo. Don’t be silent, make your voices heard! #CutCarter#FireDorvalCarter
Yesterday, the CTA L lines ran:
98% Yellow
95% Green
94% Pink
94% Orange
93% Blue
89% Red
82% Brown
69% Purple
... of scheduled trains. Since 2020, CTA L Service has been cut by 18%. Riders deserve frequent and reliable transit, with return to at least pre-2020 levels.
One rider had to say: "For the SECOND TIME in TWO WEEKS the blue line train stopped running in the middle of morning rush and riders were told "find another route." that is not how public transportation works, I need to get to work. "
How on earth does the City of @chicago allow this to happen. The @cta is a disaster (continually declining reliability, unsafe & unsanitary conditions, etc.), and its commissioner’s “salary climbed more than 60% in just eight years” ?!?! @BlockClubCHI
CTA’s Dorval Carter has seen his salary grow 60% since he took the position and has received biannual raises since 2018. This all came w/o a single performance review of his work, something other large transit agencies do. My first w/ @mack_liederman https://t.co/yJ3wWh2i8f
