Read my testimony to the Philadelphia City Council about what it’s like to be a trauma surgeon in this city and why a public health approach to gun violence is urgently needed @TempleTrauma @PennTrauma @ctcfip @pcgvr https://t.co/RXj6g5b45p
Residents:
I cannot stress this enough…
Your job is not to protect the attending
Your job is to protect the patient
Yes you should call the attending, yes you should wake them up.
(By the way - if you protect the patient ➡️ you are protecting the attending)

Please read a little about the evidence-less opinions of Mr Lott. He must be removed by @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris We will not be able to make progress toward a real understanding of gun violence and it’s root causes without elimination of individuals like this in leadership
The discredited researcher has no business being near the Department of Justice. This should be swiftly rectified in January by @JoeBiden and his Attorney General.

@ctcfip @StopTheBleedACS Can’t imagine one person who would disagree. But passion for prevention is not mutually exclusive from celebrating the ‘wins’ for #StopTheBleed. The momentum in grassroots advocacy that has carried @StopTheBleed will hopefully power us to next #StopTheNeed#ThisIsOurLane
@StopTheBleedACS @macky_neal While we celebrate successes in treating injury, we need to focus more on prevention and reversing cycles of poverty and violence and hopelessness and isolation. The kit for that is tougher. But more important.
Shifting focus to the long term sequela of survivorship (for the injured and loved ones of the injured) is such a critical step in fully understanding this public health crisis. @TempleTrauma@PennTrauma let’s continue to broaden our understanding.
The lasting effects of firearm injury reach far beyond mortality and economic burden; early identification and initiation of long-term longitudinal care is paramount https://t.co/Ryg6USzdPK @UPennTrauma@MarkSeamonMD
I support a red flag law in Pennsylvania.
This law would provide a way to temporarily remove guns from people in crisis. Similar laws are already saving lives in other states.
Join me in calling on legislators to get a red flag bill to my desk. https://t.co/pCgCx2iLIN
California will pay $3.85 million to researchers at UC Davis to develop the nation’s first program to train health care professionals to help their patients reduce firearm-related injury & death.
Thank you for your leadership on this issue @GavinNewsom.

This past weekend a balloon popped and the entire Boca Raton Mall panicked and ran for their lives.
The mall filled with #Parkland Students thought there was an active shooter when there was none.
Society has been crippled by this Public Health Crisis. #Enough#Thisisourlane
@CTCFIP standby firmly with all legislators across the commonwealth who are prioritizing prevention of firearm injury. We thank @SenLisaBaker for continuing to hear from diverse stakeholders. Let’s work together to make our communities safer! https://t.co/4NMKy2mIpZ
Exactly 25 yrs Ago, I was shot in the throat with a .38 caliber.
