CTE Hope is an organization dedicated to researching and preventing CTE and protecting people from the long-term effects of repetitive hits to the head.
It is with great honor and excitement that CTE Hope announces that "Love, Zac: Small-Town Football and the Life and Death of an American Boy" by @ReidForgrave will be released in exactly FOUR weeks (Sept. 8). 1/4

Saddened to learn of the passing of former Utah football player Greg Newman at 38.
His family is donating his brain to @bu_cte & has organized a GoFundMe to support BU's #CTE research.
I can only imagine why the family believes he had CTE, but the troubling thing is that based on our experience - that >50% of our brain donors who played college football have had CTE - the family has probably diagnosed him correctly.
That's hard to believe for a disease that cannot be diagnosed accurately during life, is even more difficult to accurately diagnose in young people, and some doctors claim has no clinical symptoms.
Of experience suggests CTE is changing people in ways families, but perhaps not doctors, can recognize. We must #EndCTE.

"After years of studies of CTE's impact on pro football players, the landscape of the NFL was changing, but young athletes like Zac were considered too young to be vulnerable to the deadly disease."

"The information that we have now shows that repeated head impacts, or head injuries, are just as damaging as concussions, if not more because the brain is just not having enough time to heal between all of those impacts."

They’re right, first book I’ve ever read cover to cover in less than 24 hours. Was afraid to buy it the first time I saw it at Barnes & Noble but got it the second time and I’m glad I did. Zac Easter sacrificed himself to better CTE research, mental health awareness and football.
Still have some Christmas shopping left to do? Love, Zac by @ReidForgrave would make a great gift for any age. It is an amazing book and once you pick it up, you won't be able to put it down!

1/3 Five years ago today, the world lost Zac Easter to CTE. Zac donated his brain to science so that he could help others silently struggling with this disease.
2/3 He asked his loved ones to spread the word about concussions, CTE, and mental health and to try and make sports safer. Because of him, CTE Hope was created.
We remember and mourn Zac today, but we also honor him by continuing to work towards our mission and help others.
