If someone finally sees Russia for what it is and comes around to supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and freedom, the response should be “welcome,” not ridicule. The purpose of making an argument is to persuade. If you resent people for being persuaded, you were more invested in the online fight than the actual cause.
@JoshPhillipsPhD@TheFIREorg Hi Josh. Respectfully, that’s not the scope of our lawsuit. Our suit only targets visa revocations and removability determinations predicated solely on lawful, protected speech.
This morning, my @TheFIREorg team and I are in California federal court challenging the two immigration statutes Secretary Rubio is using to try to deport visa and green card holders for protected speech. Incredibly proud of this team and our brave clients.
Last year, the police jailed Larry Bushart for 37 days on a $2M bond for posting a meme after Charlie Kirk’s murder.
With our help, Larry sued Perry County, TN, and its sheriff for violating his rights in retaliation for his protected speech. He has received a $835K settlement.

This indictment is breathtakingly frivolous and makes a mockery of the First Amendment. Every attorney who participated in securing it should be ashamed of themselves, if they have that capability. A dark day for freedom of speech.
The Comey indictment should be laughed out of court. The First Amendment squarely protects heated political rhetoric. “86 47” is not a serious expression of intent to commit an act of violence, the legal standard for threats. Someone tell the DOJ the Sedition Act expired in 1801.
BREAKING: @FoxNews colleague @davidspunt reports that former FBI Director James Comey has been indicted again in relation to his "8647" seashell post on Instagram last year.
Re: James Comey and free speech. Indulge me in my first ever thread:
In 1798, Congress passed the highly controversial Sedition Act, making it a crime to bring the President or other officials into “disrepute” or “excite against them.”
NEW: A federal district court, siding with FIRE in our lawsuit, will block the federal government from strongarming Apple and Facebook into not carrying two platforms that reported on ICE activity using publicly available information.
