Thrilled that @jlowgan was selected as a finalist of the 2021 @Society4Science#RegeneronSTS! I so proud of everything you've accomplished the past several years.
Good luck to all of the finalists! Looking forward to learning about your research at the public exhibition on 3/14
Meet the 2021 #RegeneronSTS finalists! 👏 These 40 bright young scientists are using science and technology to address some of society’s most complex challenges from clean water to infectious diseases like #COVID19. Learn more: https://t.co/YlVyhZX4FP @Society4Science
Tears of queer joy hearing about @CarolynBertozzi winning the chemistry #NobelPrize & Svante Pääbo in physiology, 1st openly LGBTQ+ STEM Nobel winners! Shouldn’t matter, but in a year with so much increased hate & violence it is so important to have these visible icons. #Pride
Excited to finally share some of our work on the photogeneration of tryptophan radical in a very unusual protein, azurin.
Thanks @CTLeeRes , J J Rivera, and J E Kim!

My department at UPitt (https://t.co/NIuVbosBz4) is looking to hire two new tenure-track faculty in computational biology! Feel free to email or message the search chair ([email protected]@BoyleLab) with any questions about the search. You can apply here: https://t.co/7sxi6hSrUN
I'm excited to share our latest collaborative work with @RangamaniUCSD. We obtained new mechanistic insights into actin-based force production during clathrin-mediated endocytosis by integrating quantitative #cryoET results into mathematical modeling. https://t.co/YljiNKYupW
Very careful biophysical modelling study showing how dendritic spine size and shape may modulate the plasticity rule.
Spine volume-to-surface ratio turns out to be key determinant for calcium transient size and synaptic weight updates. Can be regulated via multiple mechanisms.
Very excited to share this work led by Mason and Miriam! It's been a privilege to work with and support Mason in his high school research journey. This is the best part of "teaching science as we do science"! So excited for your future, Mason.
Meet Miriam Bell #ARCSScholar @RangamaniUCSD whose current projects focus on the shape-function relationship of dendritic spines, small protrusions on neurons that are centers of synaptic communication. Miriam was honored at our recent SOY Event: https://t.co/vnG5i66Ump #STEMed
We are releasing STRESS, an automated software to measure mechanical stresses in 3D multicellular systems using oil droplets or (some) gel microbeads. The software was developed by awesome postdoc Ben Gross and great graduate student @ElijahRShelton. https://t.co/hPdt4EFWPm 🧵
Working towards computing kinetics for large biomolecules with independent Markov decomposition. @tmhmpl championed this work, big shoutout to the team Mauricio del Razo, @CTLeeRes@RommieAmaro@biobryn.
So happy to have a paper with you Rommie!
