@CCMAdvocacy@CTHouseDems CCM’s plan to build 40,000 units of affordable housing is … wait, they actually don’t have a plan. Not even a concept of a plan. Where is your plan?
We're in a crisis. HB5002 offers a way forward. What does CCM offer? Complaints. No solutions. Nothing for the towns and cities it's supposed to represent.
As the CT General Assembly debates housing reform, there's a lot of misinformation out there, with @CCMAdvocacy leading the way. CCM has had a lot to say, but one thing is conspicuously missing -- a plan to solve the state's crippling housing crisis.
CCM says meeting the unit goals in a state study will result in overproduction.
Not true: Towns are being asked to plan and zone for more affordable housing. After the zoning is in place, if the market doesn’t exist, the housing will not be built.
Gov. Lamont: "As always, our north stars are affordability and opportunity."
We agree. The best way to make that happen is real zoning reform. Pass Towns Take The Lead in 2025.

As this story makes clear, there was no secret meeting. There is no lack of transparency. Whatever happens next, the work on the Fair Share study continues, and we’re looking forward to working with the state.

"It’s time to build a more equitable society where each town in Connecticut takes on its 'fair share' of affordable housing and residents of various financial backgrounds can prosper together."

Yesterday we joined the @cttenantsunion for a day of action at the Capitol in support of S.B. 143. We're urging legislators to support Just Cause, as no person should be subject to an eviction without reason.

Thank you, @SaudAnwarCT, for your strong advocacy! Your call for enhanced funding to support Connecticut’s Homeless Response System is crucial. #EndHomelessnessCT
WHAT WE'RE HEARING: The General Assembly may not make any changes to the two-year state budget this session. That means no new money for homelessness, affordable housing or anything else. At a time when so many are struggling with housing needs, that's exactly the wrong move.
We are delighted to welcome Victoria Asfalg (Policy & Data Analyst) and @hughsbailey (Policy Director) to our team!
With their expertise and passion for #housingequity and #justice, we're set to make even greater strides towards open and equitable communities.
“Yes, we will always need a housing safety net. But there has to be some respect for the folks who live here, who pay the bills, who pay the taxes here.”
Worth noting that people in affordable housing also "pay the taxes"
