Fascinating trip to @NMIS_group yesterday. An insight into developments in all things manufacturing, sparking ideas on collaboration. Thanks to Avril Thomson and the team. Looking forward to next steps.
Congratulations to Thomas Graham, MEng Civil Engineering graduate, who was named ‘Best Graduate Structural Engineer’ at the Scottish Structural Engineering People Awards.

Today saw us bid farewell to Dr Ian Mackie, retiring after 35 years (well 12,996 days to be precise, as he reminded us!) of inspiring civil engineering students at @dundeeuni.
After graduating from Oxford in mathematics, Ian initially came to Dundee in the early 1980’s to undertake his PhD, returning a few years later to became a lecturer making a huge contribution on our degrees in all things structures, statistics and FEM.
An 80k word PhD thesis would take 9hrs to present-The challenge: present in just 3min
