There are numerous concerns in the Mbale Ministry Zonal Office (MZO) that continue to require urgent attention, particularly in relation to land-related matters.

I wish to thank the people of Bugisu for the cooperation and support you have shown as we strengthen accountability in our local governments.

I also extend my sincere appreciation to the leaders and people of the four districts and Mbale City that we have so far visited. I thank the respective District Chairpersons (LC V), the Mayor of Mbale City, Members of Parliament, RDCs and RCCs, Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs), Town Clerks, district and city councillors, religious and cultural leaders, and all our dedicated security agencies including ISO, the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, CID, the Uganda Police Force, and the UPDF for their professionalism and commitment throughout this exercise.

Together, we have addressed concerns in the education, works, and health sectors.

We continue to receive numerous complaints regarding land-related matters, with the Ministry Zonal Office (MZO) frequently cited as an area of concern.

I want to assure the public that these concerns will also be addressed in close collaboration with my colleagues at the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, led by Hon. Judith Nabakooba.

Please continue providing us with credible and relevant information. Together, we shall restore transparency, strengthen accountability, improve service delivery, and free Mbale City and the entire Bugisu sub-region from corruption.

@BalaamBarugahar We are in support. As locals, we know these things. Even some of use work on our roads in mbarara. We contribute fuel for grading and buy culverts for our feeder roads while the district engineer eat the money. District budgets should be televised so that we knowroadst budgeted

On inspection of road projects in Bungokho North Constituency today, we found disturbing evidence of the alleged misappropriation of UGX 300 million that had been allocated for the construction of the Kyasura–Bukingala 6 km road.

The inspection was conducted together with Hon Justine Namere , the area Members of Parliament, Hon. Shafiga and Hon. Mohammad Masaba, the CISO, LC V Chairperson, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), RPC Mbale Afande Twala, other security agencies, local leaders, and residents.

Despite records indicating that UGX 300 million had been spent by June 2026, the road remained in such a poor condition that all our vehicles got stuck, forcing us to walk approximately 3 km to reach the project site.

Following these findings, the Mbale District Engineer was arrested to assist with investigations into the alleged misappropriation of public funds.

The era of stealing money meant for roads and other public infrastructure in local governments is over. Every shilling allocated for service delivery must be accounted for, and those responsible will face the law.

State House Anti-Corruption Unit and the CID, the matter is now before you for thorough investigation and appropriate action.

I need some clarification about this abuse of law, where the Main Road from Mbarara via Rwebikoona to Bushenyi, the road is Broked and even Locked, is it legally Right! , or it is another form of corruption in Uganda,
