League Two Salford City have sacked manager Karl Robinson. The move comes nine days after their 3-0 play-off final defeat by Notts County at Wembley. Salford began last season under a new ownership structure, with only Gary Neville and David Beckham of the ‘Class of 92’ still investors. Both former England and Manchester United stars were at Wembley for the play-off loss. "Salford City can confirm Karl Robinson will leave his position today as head coach with immediate effect,” the club said in a statement. "This decision has been reached unanimously by the club’s Board and executive team following a thorough review of the football operation. Karl has conducted himself throughout his time at Salford City with professionalism and integrity. These decisions are never easy, but we believe this is the right moment to make a change as we look ahead to the next chapter in Salford City’s development."
Ian Watson at South Shields has emerged as the lead candidate for the Southend United Head Coach position.
Watson lost seven games last season as his side missed out on promotion in the play-off final. #SouthShields#shrimpers#southend
@VineyMusic It’s the wording that basically says our route to the final, instead of ‘potential’ route to the final that’s the reason that every other country (mostly Scotland) thinks we’re entitled
@RobMorley_ Feel the possession based, slow tempo style suits our squad in this league. Guess we’ll see how it goes if he comes, hope I’m right and it works out 😂
