@tardyliberator@CelestialFlea@PoltFan69@AntisocialButt5 It got it a hell of a lot closer that's for sure. The left may or may not be accurate but it is infinitely more accurate than the right.
The terrain being as visible on the right as it is means we can very easily tell how far Master Chief is from that spot, which I showed.
@tardyliberator@CelestialFlea@PoltFan69@AntisocialButt5 Do you also think the earth is flat because you can't see past the horizon? Because this is what you sound like.
You're actually too stupid for me to explain this to you, 10th grade is above your level.
I thought using math and geography to help explain the issue with the new Halo ring size would help people understand.
Instead it made me realize that modern Halo fans are stupid flat earthers. They use the same logic and have the same lack of understanding of perspective.
@tardyliberator@CelestialFlea@PoltFan69@AntisocialButt5 Keep in mind that the one on the left is also running at a small 70 FOV while the one on the right is either 86 like the MCC version or the standard 80 FOV of many modern games.
If they were the same FOV the size difference would look even larger than it already does.
@tardyliberator@CelestialFlea@PoltFan69@AntisocialButt5 Also you can make a perfect circle from just 2 points, and they can be any points on said circle. That's just how circles work.
This also makes it really easy to make accurate guesses for them. Using these marks alone highlights how tiny the right ring is compared to the left.
@fear_nd_loathin@tardyliberator@CelestialFlea@PoltFan69@AntisocialButt5 Halo 1 ran at 70 FOV, Anniversary at 78, MCC version 86. Assuming the one on the right is running the same 86, or even as low as 80 like many modern FPS defaults, that means the one on the left is actually the one that looks too close.
Your argument benefits me, not you.
@tardyliberator@CelestialFlea@PoltFan69@AntisocialButt5 I'mgoing to drop the courtesy and say you're blind as a fucking bat my guy. There is no way in ten trillion years that anyone says those ISS photos look closer to the right than the left. You're trolling or blind and I don't care for either one.
@tardyliberator@CelestialFlea@PoltFan69@AntisocialButt5 Surprise 3/3 because I decided to do some napkin math.
The Halo ring on the right side is easily less than 500km in diameter, less than 5% the size it's supposed to be, based on how far this terrain looks from Master Chief and guesstimating how many times it wraps around.
@tardyliberator@CelestialFlea@PoltFan69@AntisocialButt5 (2/2)
Look back at OPs pics.
See how far away the first one is? It actually looks like it's well over 400km away, which it is considering the Halo ring is 10,000km long.
You see the details on the 2nd pic? That's more detail than looking out of an airplane window, 11km.
