Today, we provided our 15th Annual Early Thanksgiving Meal for 240 of our friends at @CUmissionKC. Though we couldn't serve it in person as we normally would have, @Royals hats and flags rounded out the celebration. 💙

Brian, a past client of our long-term program, just called to say "thanks" for having a shelter to stay in when he was in need. He was calling from Michigan and said he remembered the chapel service and he just wanted to call and say thanks.

The Mission's doors opened on September 15, 1924, at 545 main, down in the City Market area— which was known as 'Skid Row' at the time. For 96 years we have been caring for KC's poor and homeless community.
At City Union Mission, the average cost to feed, clothe, shelter, care & provide training for one person in our emergency shelter is $19 a day. While the average cost to feed, clothe, shelter, care & provide training for one person in our long-term program is $29 a day.
Many of the men in our long-term program are finding employment! There are also several men who will move out of the long-term facility very soon and into their own residences! These are both required step towards “launching” from the program and becoming self-reliant.
