Bro, we have very similar story in this case but different in some sense, I have this gc for me and my 3 tightest friends since secondary school, we were fooling and making new year resolutions together on goals we'll never achieve, until last year after I lost my dad and major source of Life source, I got recommended to work for a web3 peep in Initia, I told these my tightest guys, let's go full force into web3 since we're all outta school and we've all lost our dads and have a lot facing us to rely on what we used to do and expect change, we were broke without good jobs, and they said no, shrugged it off, they kept checking in on me to know if I've given up so we'll come back fooling again in the GC and irl, when I sent one my win from fluent, bro woke up and started pursuing his dreams of living the country which he'd abandoned/chased without motivation, it sparked a resonance, with in a short time, bro just told me he's got admission to Sweden.

If I hadn't left, I'm so sure nothing was gonna come out of our 9-5

Heck u remember those nights I did 9-5 and joined in spaces, those were the nights I was convincing them but they were still walking their path.

The truth is, they weren't the problem cuz we're all still good friends, but for the new groove to grow, the old groove must be uprooted.

Many designers keep asking me for advice. After working with 100+ clients, including many well-known brands, here’s my honest take:

People think design is just drawing pixels in Figma. But here’s what clients actually expect from a designer:

-> Someone who thinks about their product like it’s their own.

-> Someone who acts more like a co-founder than just following orders.

-> Someone who shares opinions, disagrees when something isn’t right, and suggests better ideas.

-> Someone who thinks like a marketer and understands what will help the product grow and retain users

-> Someone who uses the product first, finds issues, and improves them before users do.

-> Someone who asks the right questions to truly understand the vision.

Designers who do this are rare.

The main hack is to put yourself in the user’s shoes and ask “will I use this?” “what do I want”…. If you’re starting your career, focus on building these skills - the money and trust will follow.

Communication is not talent.

It’s a skill you practice deliberately. Use mirror too to talk to yourself to see a reflection of how others sees you when you are trying to explain your thought process.

Do this consistently for 2 weeks,
you will sound like a different person.
