Newcastle is a place where all residents should feel welcome and safe. I stand in opposition to enforcement actions that create fear or erode that sense of safety, and I will continue to advocate for policies that prioritize community trust, dignity, and accountability.

While this was described as a targeted operation with no broader activity reported, I remain deeply concerned about the presence and actions of ICE in our neighborhoods. Incidents like this can create fear and uncertainty for residents, regardless of immigration status.

Thanks to Chief Mandella and his team for remaining focused on public safety and traffic control, and I appreciate their professionalism. However, don't let federal actions carried out without transparency or coordination undermine your trust in our community.
