US AND CANADA NEGOTIATE RELIEF FROM STEEL AND AUTO TARIFFS
The US and Canada are reportedly negotiating a deal to ease tariffs on Canadian steel and automobiles, potentially before the November 3 midterm elections.
According to Iranian state TV, Tehran is discussing a proposal involving the lifting of the US blockade with officials from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan.
IRAN SIGNALS FLEXIBILITY ON STRAIT OF HORMUZ DEAL
Iran says it could reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 4–5 days, rather than the proposed seven, if its conditions are met.
OPENAI ROLLS OUT GPT-6.1 TERRA
OpenAI says GPT-6.1 Terra is rolling out, offering faster, lower-cost AI with improved computer-use capabilities.
The model can understand screens, navigate apps, and automate everyday tasks.
Anthropic has agreed to spend up to $120.5 billion on computing power from SpaceX, $SPCX, according to its IPO filing.
The deals are with SpaceX’s AI unit and give Anthropic access to Nvidia, $NVDA, chips.
This lease will deliver the next generation of NVIDIA Vera Rubin chips for SpaceX's terrestrial compute buildout and is an important step in our plan to build a Super Intelligence future. It represents the largest committed GPU financing ever.
SpaceX has officially announced that they have secured $40 billion in the largest GPU financing ever.
The company entered into a $40B master finance lease for GPUs and related equipment with an entity managed by Apollo Global Management.
Pretty interesting considering Intel lost the AI software battle to $NVDA CUDA and now wants to avoid making same mistake in quantum by owning tools developers build on before industry takes off
$INTC is reportedly acquiring quantum software startup Classiq for ~$2.3B as it looks to build software layer that works across different types of quantum computers.
If lending conditions get worse the AI buildout slows down, some neoclouds might get in trouble as they need external capital to build, semis demand slows down in the short-term because of the bottleneck becoming capital, but for hyperscalers ( $AMZN, $MSFT, $GOOGL )
the conditions are not that bad as the buildout race slows down and so does the short-term CapEx pressure, competitive pressure from neoclouds & AI model companies as well as
next month and years (as spot compute prices are much higher), if demand continues to stay this high.
Worsening financing conditions for neoclouds are actually a gift to hyperscalers, as they keep compute tighter in the future and give hyperscalers back their oligopoly.
My comment is that you will continue to see hyperscaler revenue accelerate not just from more data centers coming online, but from hyperscalers under-earning currently on long-term contracts that will roll off and get repriced over the
Ben Horowitz on the All-In Pod just said that he spoke to the $AMZN CEO a few days ago, who told him that they are SOLD OUT of compute past 2028 (maybe end of 2028).
According to $ANT, 48% of their total revenue comes from the $AMZN, $GOOGL, and $MSFT marketplaces.
Up from 47%, 32%, and 11% in the prior years.
The hyperscalers really control enterprise spend, as their share is growing despite $ANT's brand becoming stronger over this time.
