As AI reshapes our communities and our workplaces, “workers deserve the right to help guide that transition, not simply be subjected to it,” writes AFA Alaska Council 30 President LeiLauni Scheideman in the Anchorage Daily News.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Legislative-Political Conference this week!
So many CWA members and retirees are doing incredible work to demand more for working people and help elect union-backed, people-first candidates!
Unions like @CWAUnion are the reason Americans have some of our most important worker protections, like overtime pay and the five-day workweek.
I was honored to join the members of CWA today to celebrate their advocacy and hard work on behalf of all workers.
Unions like @CWAUnion are the defenders of workers nationwide and the foundation of America’s labor movement.
Thankful for the opportunity to speak with hundreds of CWA members this week as we continue fighting for a livable wage, stronger worker protections, and the right to collectively bargain.
I spoke in front of my brothers and sisters in the @CWAUnion about rural healthcare and the collapse of it that we are facing.
I know labor will lead the fight against corporations and lobbyists, and I’m proud to be a part of that fight for the working class.
Before the Senate I was a kid working construction on the South Side of Chicago. The union guys had higher pay, safer conditions, and a real pension. That's what built the middle class.
Today at the @cwaunion National Legislative-Political Conference I laid out my plan to rebuild it. With fighters like the workers in this room, we will.
Thank you to @CWAUnion for bringing together workers from across the country to fight for their rights in the age of AI.
I am proud to stand with workers and say NO to robot bosses and NO to spying on employees. The future of work must be one where AI stands for All Included.
Today, I joined @CWAUnion to discuss protecting health care for working families. As Co-Chair of @Labor_Caucus, I know unions have always led the fight for better benefits, stronger protections, and affordable care.
That's why I introduced the Capping Prescription Costs Act, which would lower out-of-pocket prescription drug costs for working families, and have been a constant advocate for protecting health care. No worker should have to choose between filling a prescription, paying rent, or putting food on the table. I'll keep fighting to lower costs and protect the health care families have earned.
UPDATE 🚨: Tomorrow, Dark Horse Workers United will learn whether Dark Horse leadership voluntarily recognizes our union, or whether we’ll be going to the ballot box.
We will keep you posted, so please stay tuned!

It is critical that our state lawmakers retain their authority to pass AI safeguards protecting workers, kids and families as new harms arise.
