Lost an amazing person last week to COVID. Joey was an RT at Dallas VA. Always greeted you w/ a friendly smile and made every day brighter. Lucky to work w/ him over 7 yrs.
If you are a trainee that learned from him, please donate.

Well, Twitter Fam: after a wonderful 13 years for which I am most grateful, I’ll be taking my talents to ...North Texas!
#BuckeyeNation for life, though!
Looking forward to working with new Fam @UTSWNews (BTW, Where can you get a good Turkey burger 🍔 in Dallas)?
The care you provide to your patient extends so much further than that individual. You are often caring for a family when you treat a parent/spouse/grandparent etc. remember this and always provide the best care possible.
The words of a prior attending come to mind, “you’ve got to take care of yourself to take care of others.” Not sure if it means anything to the patient but it means a lot to me when I’m caring for them.
First day attending on wards tomorrow! Looking forward to direct patient care and continuing the fight against imposter syndrome. The first step is naming it, and the second step is conquering it.
John Lewis wrote an opinion piece to the @nytimes for publishing after his death. We all get into medicine to help our patients, but let's use our voice to help them outside of the clinics and hospitals. Let's do John Lewis proud!
"When historians pick up their pens to write the story of the 21st century, let them say that it was your generation who laid down the heavy burdens of hate at last and that peace finally triumphed over violence, aggression and war."
