@rickytick69@Alexmorettibr I’m living in Brazil with my wife because my country suspended immigration visas including marriage visas for Brazilians which is one policy I don’t support. I was referring to Bolsonaro should leave the country since it’s obvious he will be persecuted.
@thairizard As an American living in Brazil with my wife, sure the US probably won’t recognize Lula. Trump didn’t recognize Maduros reelection. Don’t expect anything like with Maduro. There’s no drug boats to sell to the American people.
@timburchett I doubt you will see this but as an American living in Brazil with my wife due to one of few policies of this government I don’t agree with, I’m worried and I doubt immigration visas will start any time soon. As a Tennesseean your help would be appreciated.
@DonaldJTrumpJr As an American living in Brazil with my wife due to one of the few policies your father’s government implemented I don’t agree with, I’m truly worried and there’s no telling when the US will allow Brazilian immigration visas again including marriage based visas.

Hey @elonmusk please do an Amazon replacement. Mercado Libre is like Amazon 15 years ago with no massive warehouses. Could be vibecoded over the weekend and would bring power back to small businesses! The Free Market is trademarked but I have a few name ideas! #AmazonSucks

@AllanSKF@AdamMGrossman@GunnelsWarren I’m really not sure where this 1.1% rate is coming from. Last year Bezos made 5.1 billion from stock sales and paid almost a billion in taxes on that alone. Every “loophole” used by Bezos is available to everyone. We don’t teach kids basic economics anymore that’s the problem
@PhotobombingC@GunnelsWarren People simply lack the ability to separate the man from the company and don’t understand the difference between net worth vs realized gains. Amazon paid 40 billion total in state and federal taxes in 2024. Bezos has a yearly salary of 80k and worth 220 billion on paper.
@L3407972118571@billy_batzzz@AdamMGrossman@GunnelsWarren His company paid 40 billion in state and federal taxes in 2024. You understand tax rate is determined by realized annual income right? His salary is 80k with his 220 billion net worth tied up in share value. He gets spending money from collateral loans like all Americans.
@AllanSKF@AdamMGrossman@GunnelsWarren The thing is there’s no way to fix this. Gov. Shouldn’t control owners salaries and if loans are redefined as income that would affect all Americans. Enron made this strategy well known. This strategy really only works if the CEO is also the majority shareholder.
@Strwhatmilly@AdamMGrossman@GunnelsWarren His company contributed 40 billion in state and federal taxes last year alone. You understand there is a difference between net worth and actual money in the bank right? His salary is only 80k a year but you probably know his spending money is from loans tied to his shares?
@Benirhea@AdamMGrossman@GunnelsWarren By hoarding money you’re implying his 220 billion net worth is what he actually has in the bank. Let’s say you own 1000 acres of land with a timber value in the millions. The timber value is part of your net worth but not in the bank right? what happens if a fire burns it all?
@lasnpatterson@AdamMGrossman@GunnelsWarren The average Amazon salary is over double that of the national average. Amazon average salary 74k across 1.2 million employees. Walmart 70k across 2.1 million employees. National average 39k. Don’t hear much uproar regarding the Walton family.
@NoneYa49637069 @AdamMGrossman@GunnelsWarren His company paid 40 billion last year in state and federal taxes. His salary is only 80k as all his 220 billion net worth is based on the value of his shares. He gets spending money by using his shares as collateral for large loans which can’t be taxed since its debt.
@SwarlyBbBrrt@AdamMGrossman@GunnelsWarren You know there’s a difference between net worth vs actual earned money right? If his stock value suddenly went to zero he’d not only be broke but probably only of the most indebted people in the country as billionaires use stock as collateral for large loans.
@Allyclay@AdamMGrossman@GunnelsWarren Key word being “worth” he’s not earned that much as his wealth is tied up in stocks his salary is only 80k. He uses his stocks to get large loans which can’t be taxed as it’s debt. Amazon paid a total of 40 billion in taxes in 2024 across federal and state.
@AllanSKF@AdamMGrossman@GunnelsWarren It’s called being smart. Technically his salary is less than the average nurse salary in the US. His wealth is tied up in stock which can’t be taxed until sold. So he uses his stocks as collateral for large loans which is debt and can’t be taxed. All billionaires do this.
