Parents: If u think ur Coach favors certain players ur probably right. They favor players with good attitudes, the low maintenance guys, the ones that remember assignments, plays and does all the little things that helps the team win, while ur kid only worries about scoring! 🤷🏾‍♂️

2 reasons coaches play zone @ 3rd-6th grade level: 1️⃣ Its easy for the coach. Its much harder to actually teach kids to play man to man 2️⃣ Winning is more important than development Stop playing zone & start teaching w some patience. If you cant do that, dont signup to coach

Don’t like my HS Coach, transfer. Don’t like my college coach, transfer. Don’t play enough at my school, transfer. Don’t like my travel team, jump ship. Don’t like my role on my team, quit. What in the world are we teaching these kids? Stop it. Be resilient, plant roots & fight.

If your child is one of the best in 4th-8th grade make sure you help them learn that they need to work as if they are the worst in the gym. But also the will to work should come from them not the parent. Hard to be the best when your young and stay the best while in HS.
