Combining three measures:

BTC price = current market value
Realised price = average on-chain cost basis
200W SMA = average market price over roughly 4 years

Together, they help compare this bear market with previous cycles.

Things changed in 2020.
During the Covid crash, realised price went below the 200W SMA for the first time.

In 2022, realised price went below the 200W SMA again, and we've seen the same thing happen during this bear market.

So, when compared with previous cycles, the current bear market is behaving less like 2014–2015 and 2018, and more like 2022.

In 2014–2015 and 2018, Bitcoin's price below realised price during the bear markets.

But realised price stayed above the 200W SMA.
