Friday Flashback:
Coach Lou Holtz’s first pep rally as the Head Coach of Notre Dame Football. He gives a quick but powerful speech that foreshadows what was to come just two years later.
“And I don’t care what happens. If there’s anyway in this world to have great academics (we’ll never sacrifice that) and win the National Championship we’re gonna do it this way!”
Today is the day!
Rev. Robert A. Dowd, C.S.C., will be inaugurated as the 18th president of the University of Notre Dame.

Take people off the throne. People are not your source; God is your source. It’s nice when they’re good to you, when they recognize your value, but don’t become so dependent on them that you start seeing them as your provider. Recognize that behind the resource is the Source.
People will be disrespectful and say things that could hurt your feelings. But they don’t control your destiny. What they say doesn’t determine who you are. Don’t take that bait and get engaged in a battle you’re not supposed to fight.

Dare to ask, not just for your needs, not just for small things, but ask for your dreams, ask for the big things God put in your heart. He’s longing to be good to you. He wants to show you His favor in new ways. He’s just waiting for you to ask.
