Very excited my first paper is now online! 'Thermal sensitivity of feeding and burrowing activity of an invasive crayfish species in UK water' with @DrMFJohnson, S. Dugdale, @nesslet, H. Fell, @Ema_Angharad, S. Tarr, C. Templey and @acalgar. https://t.co/cNXjlwbw2s @UoNGeography
📢There's a new post on our #GeogBlog! @C_Rodriguez96 reflects on a PhD experience during a global pandemic and how it impacted fieldwork:

@DrMFJohnson@ResearchersUoN@UoNHumanities Thank you so much Matt!! Definitely wouldn’t be here without all the support and advice throughout the whole of my 7/8 years at Nottingham.
Really proud to have been awarded with this prize!
I really want to thank all three of my supervisors (Matthew Johnson, Steve Dugdale and Rob Hearn, Sarah Jewitt and all the technical and Labs team in @UoNGeography (Including Teresa Needham who only won a prize today).

@PinetenColin @dalischone The research project is to understand the opinions of different stakeholders, including those that use rivers for other purposes - like fishing!
If you’d be interested in helping out let me or I can explain it a bit more by phone :)
@dalischone @PinetenColin Good afternoon,
I’m conducting my PhD research on these signal crayfish and would love to talk to those affected by it.
If your interested in taking part (very quick) please let me know: my email address is: [email protected]
Thank you!
@PJennings88@RiverChess Hi Paul, let me know if you’d be interested in taking part in a quick task to help research on signal crayfish. My email address is [email protected]
The past few days I was at #EquatorResearchGroup in Sheffield and I can honestly say it’s been an amazing and enriching experience! Amazing to see how some people interested in making academia more diverse can do!
@BIAZA@JenNightingale1 @BristolZooGdns @WCL_News @ARGroupsUK Hi Jen! I’m actually studying invasive signal crayfish at University of Nottingham and would be super keen to talk to you about the work that you and Bristol Zoo are doing!
Hi #BES2020! I’m a PhD student at @UoNGeography investigating root traits in the Arctic. Roots and belowground processes are key to increasing our understanding of how Arctic ecosystems will respond to further environmental changes. Let’s chat! 🌿❄️🌨(wishing for a root emoji)
It's my first conference #BES2020 this week!
I'm Charlotte, a PhD student at @UniofNottingham studying sediment transport dynamics in rivers infested with invasive signal crayfish.
You can find my on-demand poster under the Invasive Species topic!

Great talk by @C_Rodriguez96 on Testing for behavioural and morphological shifts of signal crayfish. Not only does it highlight the relationship to this species and climate change but how it expands and what morphology may be associated with that, great work #BES2020
