Scherp en waakzaam blijven in de Oostzee tijdens Baltic Sentry! Vandaag hebben we de uitdagende manoeuvre geoefend om naast voor anker te gaan . Zr. Ms. Luymes , Zr. Ms. Schiedam en de Zweedse mijnjager Ulvön.

Together with HSWMS Ulvon from SNMCMG1 we mored alongside flagship HNLMS Luymes at sea. A delicate manoeuvre, enabling logistic transfers and meetings. #wearenato #StrongerTogether #balticsentry

Two ships from SNMCMG1, the 🇳🇱 Dutch Flagship Luymes and Dutch minehunter Schiedam, recently conducted a flag hoisting exercise. This drill demonstrates their ability to communicate through international signaling flags, a unique and universal method used by navies worldwide.
It’s an important way to improve interoperability and strengthen teamwork between ships while operating together, even when they’re from the same country.

Towing isn’t just hooking up and pulling—it takes precision, coordination, and trust. Strong winds, shifting seas, and different ship sizes make every move a challenge. From careful approach to aggressive maneuvering, the whole crew is involved!
