I agree, there are a lot of weird things about the whole Charlie Kirk situation, but as someone that owns more than 1 30-06, I can say it is definitely not unlikely to see an exit wound. If the shot was straight on, then yeah, 6-7 inches of neck is nothing, but the same reason bullets bounce of water, since Charlie was leaning forward, and the shot was at an elevated position, the actual path of the bullet would have been through probably 10 inches of neck and then well over a foot of pure bone.
