Candidate Brandon Johnson was asked whether the Bears should receive a $2 billion public subsidy to build a new stadium.
His answer was no.
Here’s what he said ⬇️
"Let me be clear: I want the Bears to stay. But Chicago could also use $2 billion to remove lead pipes, house thousands of unhoused Chicagoans, fully fund public schools, generate neighborhood and business development in communities across the city, pay down our pension and general obligations, or meet dozens of other urgent needs – all of which would also generate much-needed economic and quality-of-life returns."
But that was before he had an approval rating below 30%—the lowest in history for an incoming mayor.
Chicagoans should not be on the hook for 40 years of new debt payments to rehab Brandon Johnson’s political career.
Dyson created the first bagless vacuum and used the cyclone tech for related products: air purifier, hand dryer, fans and hair dryer.
It took a big swing on EVs and missed ($500m+ on R&D). There was also a washing machine flop.
But the most random product line? A strawberry farm that grows off-season so the UK can have local access to the fruit year round.
Dyson Farming was established in 2012 and — with 36,000 acres — is one of the largest farms in the country.
The semi-automated strawberry farm has 700,000 plants and will produce 750 tonnes of strawberry a year.
Just had a perfect Uber ride. Exchanged small talk and pleasantries for the first 5 minutes. Asked if he was making good money tonight. Asked each other how the day was going. Dead silence for 14 minutes after that. That’s what we do it for. That’s how you draw it up.
