Didn’t get many action shots, but a lot of great, fundamental softball led us to getting the win. Awesome job by all the teams from the BSC. @BagdadSC2016 @bagdadsoftball
Players: There's never been an easier time to be an absolute dirtbag in the game than right now.
Here are a few ways to stand out amongst the crowd that every player can do:
▪️Sprint on & off the field. 1st one on, 1st one off
▪️Run your best home to 1st time on every ball you hit
▪️Throw the ball with purpose when taking gbs in between innings
▪️Show your best pop times in between innings
▪️Stay up when you fail. Studs don't doubt
▪️Show up early & leave late
▪️Wear your uniform properly. Jersey always tucked in. Belt on. Hat on straight. The way the uni fits you matters.
▪️Win & lose with class. No poor sports & no shoving it into the opponents face when you win.
▪️Shake the umpire hands before & after the game & thank them for calling the game
▪️Be a great teammate. A selfless one. Pick others up when they're down.
▪️Be a leader regardless of how your day is going. It's easy to lead when things are going your way. Lead when it's your hardest day & you'll gain respect from everyone.
Talent will get you in the door, but the intangibles will keep you there! 👊🏻
Hitters: Start however you'd like in your setup, but if you don't get to here at release or a little after, you will struggle.
Load to see the ball. Don't see the ball to load! The eyes have it!
▪️See the ball
▪️Get a good pitch
▪️Be on time

Figuring it out. Kid watches video religiously of Matthew Ellis/Drew Burress. Falling in love w/ the process/video/player development piece of building a swing. Really enjoys the “Big Boys” that she’s taking notes from every time Dad has to “go see a guy”.
