“Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” (Psalm 34:14)
The first part of the verse, “Depart from evil and do good,” describes what repentance looks like. In Hebrew, the words “naham” and “shub” are translated as “repentance.” They mean a change of mind or purpose, being sorry, and turning or returning. In Greek, the word is “metanoia,” which means “a change of mind.”
Wayne Grudem, in his book on systematic theology, probably offers the best definition of repentance. “A heartfelt sorrow for sin, a renouncing of it, and a sincere commitment to forsake it and walk in obedience to Christ.”
So we can say that repentance isn’t an emotion but a decision.
And that decision to depart from evil and to do good comes from our seeking and pursuing God’s peace. And it’s this peace that Jesus promises, a peace that comes through Him alone, not the peace Satan offers as a substitute, that is, the peace of this world.
Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)
And so, departing from evil and doing good comes from seeking and pursuing peace with God through faith in Jesus Christ, our Prince of Peace and our Lord of Lords.

A Thought from God’s Word: 2 Timothy 4:7
In 2003, the Ohio State Buckeyes faced the Miami Hurricanes in the Fiesta Bowl. Just before the game, Ohio State’s coach, Jim Tressel, asked his players one question. “How do you want to be remembered?”
Paul answered this question about ending well from a Roman prison cell, knowing that he could be put to death at any time. We might say that Paul wrote his own epitaph.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7)
By faith, we must believe in and follow God’s path, plan, and purpose for our lives. We must fight the good fight and finish the race God has set before us, not so much by our actions and deeds, but rather by faith.
How can we live a life of faith and have a great ending like Paul’s?
Living A Disciplined Life: “I have fought the good fight.” (2 Timothy 4:7a)
Living A Directional Life: “I have finished the race.” (2 Timothy 4:7b)
Paul followed the course laid out for Him by God. Whether in good times or bad, happy or sad, and in pain and suffering, Paul set his sights on the goal, that is, the high calling of Jesus Christ, and kept heading toward the finish (Philippians 3:14).
GOBC&H 2026 MAY HAVE ENDED… BUT YOU CAN NO LONGER BE SMALL.
A convention may end, but the Word of God never expires.
One of the strongest prophetic charges from GOBC&H 2026 is captured in this declaration:
“You can no longer be small! Till GOBC&H 2027, go and win with Jesus!”
This is more than a farewell—it is a divine commission.
God did not bring us through days of worship, teaching, correction, impartation, and encounters so that we could return to ordinary living. The expectation of Heaven is that we leave changed, enlarged, and committed to advancing His Kingdom.
Jesus said:
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain…”
— John 15:16 (KJV)
And His final command remains our lifelong assignment:
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations… Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.”
— Matthew 28:19–20 (KJV)
To “go and win with Jesus” means to:
Live a life that reflects Christ.
Win souls and disciple men.
Build your family according to God’s pattern.
Excel in your divine assignment.
Carry the atmosphere of Heaven wherever God sends you.
Produce results that testify to the reality of God’s power.
The declaration, “You can no longer be small,” is a call to refuse every limitation—spiritually, mentally, morally, and in your Kingdom assignment. Small thinking, small vision, small obedience, and small faith have no place in the life of a believer who has been equipped by God’s Word.
As we journey from GOBC&H 2026 toward GOBC&H 2027, let every month become evidence that the Word we received is producing fruit. Let your growth be visible. Let your service increase. Let your faith deepen. Let your influence expand. Let souls come into the Kingdom because you chose to obey the Lord.
May the impartations of GOBC&H 2026 remain alive in your spirit. May you walk in greater wisdom, greater faith, greater obedience, and greater fruitfulness. May your life become undeniable proof that the Word of God works, and may you return for GOBC&H 2027 with testimonies of victories won through Jesus Christ.
GOBC&H 2026 is over, but your assignment has just begun. Go—and win with Jesus!

Thinking about what Jesus said, and how this applies to the church, I remember the story of Jacob. As he was escaping the wrath of his brother Esau, he lay down to sleep and dreamt. In his dream, he saw a ladder extending from heaven to earth, and upon it angels were ascending and descending.
When he awoke, he said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it … How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven!” (Genesis 28:16-17)
And then, in Nathanael’s first encounter with Jesus, he acknowledged that Jesus was indeed the Son of God and the King of Israel (John 1:49). Jesus referred to Jacob’s dream and his proclamation about the house of God, and said, “Hereafter you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man” (John 1:51).
What Jesus gives is a beautiful picture of the church, where we gather to worship God and study His word. The gateway between earth and heaven is opened, as Jesus reveals the realities of heaven to us while we’re here on earth. A place where heaven and earth meet.
And that’s because it is the place where Jesus Himself resides. The Lord Jesus is present in the church. Jesus said, “Where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20)
And is it any wonder, for Jesus is not only the foundation of the church, but He is also the builder and head of it as well (1 Corinthians 3:11; Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 1:22; Colossians 1:18)
Thank you for your continued faithfulness in sending God’s word out into the world. Take care, and God bless
