@SheriffClarke No!
Comparing the 6 States with least margin of victory in the 2016 and 2020 Elections, Trump lost in 2020 by almost double the margin of the lost of Clinton in 2016.
In both cases the incumbent Party lost. Also, Democrats won the popular vote in both.
Data is in internet.
President Biden is a gentle giant who is speaking for gun control on tv. With his kind nature, he is such a far cry from the ex-president who is so full of hate.
@US_Navy_Ret_MD What they did was to “split” the debt. For example, GDB debt is not Central Government’s debt. Neither is PREPA’s, PRASA’s, UPR’s, etc.
That way the total debt become more than double of what the Government can actually pay.
And that’s why PROMESA was approved.
Eran “días claves” de sesión antes de que existiera la Junta de Control Fiscal. Ahora que está la Junta, que ni se molestan en volver, no hacen falta.
Qué hay que legislar además del presupuesto?

Agree with all them, except the last one, because it’s already done.
The Constitution of PR is one of the first in the World to include that clause (back in 1952).
Governors RHC, PRG and the others after them found ways to bypass the Constitution (Extra Constitutional Debt).
Keys to promoting a healthy economic growth in Puerto Rico (my view):
* A stable and resilient energy infrastructure - key to promoting economic growth; stabilizes prices (long-term) and keep businesses running. This is also a public safety issue. This one is a must and should transcend any partisan political ambitions. It should be heavily (but well) regulated to (again) keep prices at acceptable levels.
* An improved and reliable healthcare system - key to address an aging population and encourage others to call Puerto Rico home. A healthy population impacts (positively) the workforce. Keeping politics off this area opens the door for innovative ideas and improvements. Private and Public sector hospitals should conduct periodic tabletop exercises to ensure all systems are and will operate as intended during emergencies - especially to assess those in charge of keeping/maintaining critical generators. Don't wait for adverse weather conditions to test your capabilities!!!
* Keep government agencies providing services to the public out of mainstream politics - if your agency is designed to provide a specific service, take ownership and deliver quality service and keep politics out of the conversation during working hours. Regardless of that fact that your party or the other is/not in power. Public policy impacts everyone, but every agency has a role and purpose - the latter should be the ultimate mission - deliver on that service - period!
* Enact Hatch Act-like laws to hold people in government accountable ethically for their conduct during elections/partisan activities that don't belong in government - public service comes before politics.
* Pay your just debts and spend only what you need (government). Amend the Constitution if needed to force government to operate with a balanced budget and provide yearly reports to the public no matter what.
Based on the tremendous progress these crews made over the weekend, I can now say:
We will have I-95 back open this weekend.
We have worked around the clock to get this done, and we’ve completed each phase safely and ahead of schedule.
@marlene4719 Correct me if I am wrong.
Is this a store to buy things in large quantities, like 20 lbs. of rice or 40 lbs. of beef or 30 lbs. of fish?
I never buy there because I don’t have to buy such quantities.
As I understand, the investigation on Hunter Biden is apparently over.
If so, and the @HouseGOP and @SenateGOP are not satisfied with the conclusion, then they can held hearings to get more information on what the investigators assigned by Bill Barr found.
Biden’s presidency has been defined by crisis after crisis.
That’s why House Republicans are working overtime to fight inflation, secure the border and hold Washington accountable.
