Last week I had the unique opportunity to tour Astra’s factories. The tours were amazing but the part I loved the most was meeting and talking with the team at Astra. Wishing the team the best + I look forward to seeing test flight alpha + more spacecraft engines going to orbit.
Yesterday, we welcomed members of the German Bundestag’s Budget Committee to Planet. The group got a view of our existing manufacturing facilities - a sneak peek of what’s to come for our expanding manufacturing plans in Berlin later this year.
Our Berlin facility will double our capacity to build high resolution Pelican satellites and add up to 70 high-skilled jobs to our existing team of about 150 in Berlin. 🇩🇪
@NASAAdmin everyone has been talking about starship and New Glenn recently but what is NASA position on supporting smaller rockets like @Astra Rocket 4, @FireflySpace Alpha, and @stoke_space Nova? This new space race shouldn’t just be focused on moon but also opening access to LEO
Did not expect this from blue but the urgency to get New Glenn flying again by the end of the year is refreshing to see. Best of luck to the team can’t wait to see New Glenn take to the skies once again.
Some LC-36 updates. Now that we’ve had access to the pad and integration facility we can share a bit of good news. The propellant farm, oxygen, liquid hydrogen and LNG tanks are all in good shape. This is good luck because these are very long lead items. The water tower is also good. The big support tower is damaged, but it can be repaired in place rather than torn down and replaced. The booster “Never Tell Me The Odds” and the three GS-2s that were onsite in the integration facility also look good.
I’ve seen some speculation that we might move directly to the 9x4 configuration, but we won’t do that. Rate manufacturing of 7x2 is going well, and we’re going to continue that at pace as planned and store the stages for use. In addition, we had already been working for some time on eliminating our transporter-erector in favor of an alternative vertical conop, and we’ll now go directly to that; so we don’t need a new transporter-erector.
We will fly again before the end of this year. Gradatim Ferociter.

@Whateverface381 People have forgotten that all of the pads have connected commodities. Yes. The scope of the damage has been spreading it's hardly private at this point which is why I'm fine with at least nonspecifically mentioning it
@SciGuySpace This is the best thing that Blue can do to continue to move forward. Use this failure as a way to come back stronger and better. Just like Astra is doing with Rocket 4.0.
@blueorigin This was a harsh reminder of how hard spaceflight truly is. Glad that everyone is safe and no one is injured. I know that the team at Blue will be able to bounce back and help us get back to the moon and mars. Never give up and always push forward!
Every time Berger makes one of the polls and Neutron wins something happens 😭. First the stage one tank and now the interstage. Anyways rocket four is coming!
Going to @DonToliver octane tour is a must this was the best concert I’ve been to. Was amazing to be able to see him this close and experience some of my favorite songs live.
