Investigating compromised applications in your Entra ID tenant? We have the guidance for you! I wrote this a little while back, but it is still very relevant. Much like our named users, applications can be compromised too, so it is important to know where to look to investigate malicious activity - https://t.co/2g2kM2vsWe
The Office encourages Kenyans to exercise their rights to personal data privacy when engaging with public and private organizations.
During a sensitization session in Shauri Moyo, Nairobi led by Principal Data Protection Officer Valerie Kutima, the Office urged the public to utilize redress mechanisms if their personal data is misused through lodging complaints with the ODPC.
Other topics discussed included the legal bases for processing personal data, such as consent, contractual obligations, legal obligations, vital interests, public interest, legitimate interests, and uses for historical, statistical, journalistic, literary, and scientific research purposes.
This session is part of the national data protection advocacy program aimed at enhancing awareness of data protection across the country.

I’d love to see @CISAgov publish a ‘Top 10 Vendors’ list for releasing products with serious, frequently exploited vulnerabilities (CVSS > 8.5). It’d be a data-driven ‘wall of shame’ based on their exploited vulnerability reports. If they won’t do it, I might. And if a vendor sues me, I’ll live-tweet the court proceedings with the stats in hand. 📊
As Kenya continues to lead in data governance, we reflect on the progress made and the challenges ahead in navigating a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
This Tuesday 19th November 2024, @AmnestyKenya in partnership with the @ODPC_KE we will be Celebrating Five Years of Kenya's Data Protection Act #DataProtectionAt5 and reflecting on how the Act has transformed the management of personal data, empowering individuals and holding organizations accountable.

New from 404 Media: police freaking out at iPhones stored for forensic examination mysteriously rebooting themselves. This makes brute forcing much harder. Cops hypothesize Apple pushed an update that tells nearby iPhones to reboot if not on phone network https://t.co/oJffld9GNx
@kcsfa@KRACare@ODPC_KE 10. Is the data collection legally justifiable?
11. How will consent be requested and managed?
12. Back on foreign nationals, will KRA have a mechanism to handle and process DSAR and deletion requests?
@kcsfa@KRACare@ODPC_KE 7. What other (personal) information do they intend to collect alongside the IMEI?
8. How exactly will the IMEI and other related information be used to enhance “tax compliance”.
9. What implications will this move have on foreign nationals, e.g., from the EU?
