If Morocco 🇲🇦 can build a $44 million provincial hospital with a 120-bed capacity, there is absolutely no excuse for the leadership of Puntland to have conservatively wasted over $60 million during the 2022 election to bankroll corrupt politicians who failed to represent their constituencies.

And let’s be clear: if you cannot take care of your wounded troops, forget about your citizens, then you have no moral or political standing to talk about “saving Somalia.” That slogan has become nothing more than a campaign tool, a pathway to Villa Somalia, and a cover for looting Puntland’s resources.

The people of Puntland know exactly what is wrong. It is not external pressure, it is not capacity, and it is not destiny. It is leadership rot. A political class obsessed with Mogadishu politics, patronage, and recycled failures, while public funds are drained with nothing to show for it.

Instead of building a modern hospital to serve Puntland’s wounded soldiers and civilians, taxpayer money was burned on bribes, vote-buying, and political survival. The same failed agenda from 2022 is being repackaged, while Puntland continues to bleed.

Over the last four years alone, Puntland has lost nearly $1 billion, money siphoned away through corruption, mismanagement, and election rackets. And if this same leadership is allowed to repeat the cycle, they will steal yet another $60 million, straight from the ports and cities of #Puntland, to fund another loss, another lie, another betrayal.

This is not a funding problem. This is not a development problem. This is a greed problem.

Puntland does not lack resources or solutions. It suffers from leaders who treat public money as campaign cash, soldiers as disposable, and citizens as collateral damage in their obsession with Villa Somalia.
