Now at SCAPE ANNEX at Corona Del Mar, the manifestation of the paint into a form … wave, fin, wing, or geological rock thing … is the element of authenticity, my actions caused that.
The color teal, is the ‘lacuna’ of my artwork, I cannot see it and so the experimentation with heat and the acrylic paint (the material) detects around it. A dialogue about something there but isn’t there, evidence is pointing towards a concept outside what my eyes can perceive.
The artist’s struggles and wrestles with the material in the arena. The Art-world replaces that artist’s struggle with a market trend; it then, produces only ghosts & zombies of a style that mimic a replica of a crisis but contain none of its essence.

The brush survived another round in the Arena; beat-up, matted, and messy … hardened paint soaked down to the roots of the hairs, baked, and hardened from the many actions exposed to the heat of the heat-gun. Getting ready for anther round of combat.

The brush survived another long durational fight in the arena; its hairs covered in clumps of acrylic paint became petrified exposed to the baking heat of the heat-gun from many actions.

2:45 am in the studio, the brush’s hair was matted with thick clumps of paint hardened like pebbles by the heat gun; returning from the arena. I was trimming brush hairs.

Here is the 3 second hook of this video; why is this video causing 91k thumbs ups, is there a trick or pattern I am not seeing? I am analyzing this with deep interest.
As a color blind artist this color is meaningless, it reminds me of when I would watch static on a TV screen. That buzzing sound.

Day 2 the brush hair is still there and survived the night of action painting; it even accumulated paint too. But our lone brush hair is standing its ground … unyielding and defiant!

The lone brush hair … stands sentinel against the wave of actions across the grey meaningless color of the arena. Accidentally caught in by the painting the struggle for meaning, tune in for the next post and see it survives the next round of actions.

In tea culture—specifically in Japan—a tea stem floating straight up in your cup is called chabashira (literally meaning "tea pillar"). It is considered a highly auspicious symbol of good luck, happiness, and impending good fortune.
I the artist, confront the meaningless of the invisible color; my obsessive actions of repetition devoted to the physicality of the acrylic paint in my project, shape the meaningfulness of my experience about the color teal, which I cannot see but am aware of it’s existence
I the artist has been descending into the ‘invisible grey color’ into an awareness of meaninglessness (alienation, repetition, futility—like Sisyphus pushing the boulder).
