This morning’s ‘eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month’ will mark exactly 100 years since King George V unveiled the Cenotaph: a new national memorial to the 'Glorious Dead' of the 1914-1918 war.

The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge, The Earl of Wessex, The Princess Royal and The Duke of Kent all laid wreaths at the Cenotaph at the #RemembranceDay service.
The Cenotaph serves as a national shrine to the memory of all lives lost in war.
