New books for the new year! Books bought from @_fullybooked with my Mofusand Shark Meow posture buddy.
One of my goals this 2025 is to be more consistent with posting and revive my book blog. I will still continue supporting Asian, especially Filipino writers.
Law and order has deteriorated in the City of Davao as cult members from the Kingdom of Jesus Christ are blocking the roads servicing Davao International Airport. GMA News is reporting that the cult members are at the airport gate.
I hope the Philippine National Police steps in and restores order in the city because the city government led by Sabastian Duterte has lost control.
I started reading Cultish: the Language of Fanaticism. With the current news about the FBI wanted head of a "church" here in PH, I think it's a timely read.

@baileymeyers I remember 'pomegranate'. I haven't encountered this fruit when I was in 6th grade so when my English teacher asked me to read this, I read it per syllable 😅. Also salmon, almond.
@JotSerilo On a different note, this is how Smart notified their postpaid subs. Kinda glad that smart asked first and let me know what info they are using.

the first book I remember reading on my own is my English textbook. I grew up poor and the only books I had were loaned to us by the school (I studied in a public elementary school).

Bought @AmazonKindle paperwhite to slowly get back to reading after a year of no activity. subscribed to kindle unlimited trial. Any suggestions what to read? Want to make sure I get my trial’s worth.
@austinburns Thanks for that suggestion but I live in the Philippines. Sadly, we don’t have that kind of service in our local libraries (honestly, there’s also a shortage of those) and I’m out of Uni for years now.
