what is Pax Silica, why should Filipinos pay attention, and why we should reject it?
I did my own research and tried to explain it in the simplest and easiest way to understand. if i missed anything, feel free to add credible sources or corrections.

trust me this method carried me when i was writing my paper on norse christian syncretism last year. got to a point where i used a book that eggers used as his reference for the northman for MY reference in my paper. i felt so goated when i found that out last week.
there are websites out there dedicated to historians’ work! me personally when i wanna research something abt the medieval period i always go to https://t.co/faddJMqKz6 bc it’s run by experts in the field. it also helps to look at sources from the wiki page of ur subject LOL
main reason to the trite depictions of medieval europe is that ppl don't actually draw from its history but from more recent works inspired by it </3 trust me when u actually research it there is SO MUCH u can talk abt from that time. it's kind of incredible.
this is one instance where i accept the usage of drab colors in a medieval movie bc bro imagine watching something scary and horrific but everyone is wearing brightly dyed tunics and shit

just finished the left hand of darkness by ursula k. le guin earlier today and HONESTLY the way i feel about ai and estraven's friendship w one another is the same way i feel abt frodo and sam. ai and estraven are like... the frodo and sam of scifi. and i love them :(
ifl a lot of this can also be paralleled with the way western writers often oversexualize female heroes as a way to still keep them marketable for a male audience while trying to uphold the “strong/empowered woman” figure that women were fighting for.
