हाल ही में एक मल्टी नेशनल कंपनी ने गुजरात के कुछ किसानों पर एक-एक करोड़ तक के हरजाने का मुकदमा दायर किया था। कंपनी का कहना है कि इन किसानों ने आलू की ऐसी किस्म बोने की खता की है जिस पर उसका यानी कंपनी का विशेषाधिकार है।
