At the Houses of Parliament this month, our session on #cardiovasculardisease and benchmarking kept returning to one point: the data has been slow to show how hard CVD falls on Black communities, and slower still to change anything.

We want to close that gap. So we are opening a Call for Evidence on #CVD, and we need to hear from you.

If you are a clinician, a commissioner, a public health lead, a community organisation, or someone who has navigated cardiovascular care yourself, your insight matters. On where risk goes unseen. On where access breaks down. On what trusted care actually looks like, and where the system lets people fall out of the pathway.

Our colleagues were in Moss Side today at the Moss Side Together Festival, out in Broadfield Park speaking with our people.

A free community day of music, food, sports and a youth talent show, and a chance for us to be present with the Black community we serve. We spoke with families, young people and elders about the things that matter most to them.

Health starts with trust, and trust is built face to face, in spaces like this one. Being visible in our communities will always be central to the work we do.

Since our formation in 2017, Andy has stood alongside the Caribbean & African Health Network in meaningful ways from championing improved sickle cell provision across Greater Manchester, to supporting the GM Black History Month Civic Launch which has become a fixture in the city region's calendar, to backing the formation of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Black Health.

We look forward to seeing his continued work now on a national stage in support of our mission to eradicate the health inequalities and wider disparities facing the Black African and Caribbean community.
