Rooting for Hollywood to die is loserthink. The antidote for the woke fever dream that ruined movies for the last few years isn’t to just abandon and destroy film culture entirely…the answer is breaking the fever. Obsession, Project Hail Mary, Top Gun: Maverick…there have been some bangers emerging from the ashes that actually are winning big at the box office again. They don’t have an agenda, and are entertaining as hell. Their insane box office returns should remind all of us that not only is Hollywood still a highly valuable industry, but deep down, we ALL still want to go to the movies. We just want it to be like the good old days in the 90s when movies were just movies, not a UC Santa Cruz lecture.
Culture is America’s #1 global export, and Hollywood is the vanguard for popular culture. Period. Not only is it worth saving, it’s necessary. Not just for California, but for the entire country. We cannot root for California to fail…the success of our country relies on a strong, prosperous, and sane California. We need to nurture this place the way we’d nurture a family member going through a drug crisis. Stern, stable leadership, a full intervention to purge the addiction (to wokeness), and a committed effort to rehabilitate her.
I see people on the right saying "screw Hollywood" like they're scorned ex-girlfriends. And I see people on the left saying "screw the film tax credit" simply because it involves the President. All of you need to grow the fuck up. We are saving America, and that includes California. And California...that includes the President. Get on board or get out, losers.
So the Senate is congratulating themselves on passing the Continuing Resolution today.
Let's see... hey, they averted a shutdown by extending funding till December. They are so awesome (sarcasm). Both parties worked together to protect themselves through the midterms! Yay for them!
And they agreed to strip the bill of the SAVE act so that they could pass the CR on a bipartisan basis. I love the way that they work together. (more sarcasm)
They did take a separate vote to require IDs for elections. Not one Democrat was in favor of that, of course, and then the Republicans had the 4 usual, traiterous senators who also opposed it:
Susan Collins (R-Maine)
Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska)
Thom Tillis (R-N.C.)
Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.)
Can't make this stuff up.
I haven't even been publicly trans for 72 hours and I'm already getting so much hate.
I just want to hoop with my girls in my feminine era! Why can't y'all be happy for me? 💅🏽
“overpromising and underdelivering”
SpaceX launched ~80-85% of ALL mass to orbit in 2025. To put that in context, China did ~8-10%. One private company outpaced the rest of Earth (far exceeding the two largest superpowers). 165 successful Falcon flights with zero failures. Reusable boosters flying 30+ times…
What absolute shit journalism by Bloomberg. @elonmusk
This is seriously impressive and shows why Nayib Bukele is one of the most competent leaders in the world.
He has the right balance of intellect and common sense.
@SherylJensen69 So you’re cool with the straight up evil in just about every leftist issue because… Trump Bad. Got it. Most of the main stream media for the last decade would agree with you apparently.
When the Senate votes tomorrow or Friday on whether or not to leave DC for August recess,
I’ll widely publicize which Senators are with us & which are against us.
We have 2 years to prepare for primaries.
@berniemoreno Bernie, No recess until the SAVE America Act is passed. If you’re holding out your support to try to get special favors or concessions please stop. This is a game of chicken we (Ohio voters) don’t want you to play with such an important law.
Bernie I highly suggest you add your commitment to this list. No recess until the SAVE America Act is passed. If you’re holding out your support to try to get special favors or concessions please stop. This is a game of chicken we (Ohio voters) don’t want you to play with such an important law.

.@StephenM: This may be hard to believe that you could steal hundreds of thousands and ultimately millions of dollars and not do any significant jail time. I think probably the simplest explanation is that when Congress was drafting these statutes, they still lived in a high-trust society, and it eclipsed their imagination that there would be systemic, widespread, continual lying, fleecing, and organized crime to rip off hundreds of billions of dollars from the American taxpayer, which is what has happened. There needs to be strict, clear, mandatory minimums.
@joecooprider Being supportive of refugee populations does not mean we are to import the entire third world, not expect them to assimilate, and put them and all other future generations on permanent welfare.
