We don’t hate gaming, we love gaming very much that we refuse to let corporate greed to further ruin it for us.
A digital-only future is NOT evolution, it’s going backwards because it means:
❌No ownership
❌No competition/options for prices
❌No 2nd hand marketing and trading
❌Always being tied to an account
❌Losing games if an account is lost
❌Region-locking
❌64% of the world who have no dedicated PlayStation Store will lose access to games
NO DISC 💿 NO BUY
E quem comprou o PS5 PRO pra jogar GTA 6 a 60FPS?
KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
After years of anticipation, Grand Theft Auto VI is nearly here.
In their first print appearance globally, the game’s protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos cover the New Idols issue with Dazed.

🔵 With PlayStation if you own the physical disc, you can go and fuck yourself
Day 4 of the PlayStation Blackout🚀
Let’s refuse some of the weak arguments against physical games:
🗣️“You just want physical games for nostalgia”
✅No. Physical games represent:
A) Ownership
B) Competitive pricing
C) Second hand market & trading
D) No reliance on networks & internet
E) Not tied to a user account
F) Playable worldwide without region lock
G) Collectible value
🗣️“85% of players buy digital”
✅15% or even 5% in this industry is still millions of people bringing in hundreds of millions of not billions o revenue.
Statistics from around the world have also shown us that in the UK, France, Japan and Australia, physical game sales go higher than %40 and %50 for games like Resident Evil and Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
🗣️“Nobody buys physical games”
✅Several physical games go out of stock for weeks, or ship with a disc that requires downloading more.
Physical games don’t lack interest, they lack genuine support.
🗣️“Netflix and Spotify ended movie and music Blu-Rays and CDs”
✅Movies are still being sold on Blu-Ray and 4K UHD Blu-Rays, and music is still released on CDs, vinyl records and even collectible cassette tapes that actually work, despite being far smaller and less demanding than video games which can go over 100GB.
Artists sell multiple variants of the same vinyl and CD to boost sales.
🗣️“I haven’t bought a physical game for 10 years! It’s obsolete”
✅Your experience with games does not automatically reflect everyone else’s. If you don’t care, don’t get in the way.
🗣️“It’s expensive to make games on disc”
✅Games won’t be cheaper when man all digital. You will pay the same price for a glorified rental that can be taken any time due to licensing agreements or account loss/suspension.
🗣️“You’re too broke, you want to buy second hand and resell games”
✅Being a bootlicker for corporations that don’t know you exist, does not make you any less broke than those you accuse and posture in front of behind a keyboard
Physical games should always be an option. Video games are far more than just a file to download or “access” to gain.
In addition to all the benefits, they hold sentimental value to players and collectors.
NO DISC 💿 NO BUY
Activision paid $99.9 million for Guitar Hero's publisher in 2006, made over $2 billion off the franchise, then killed the entire genre in four years. Today that publisher's name came back from the dead to sell plastic guitars again.
RedOctane was two brothers, Kai and Charles Huang, who started out selling dance pads. They published the first Guitar Hero in 2005 and it hit $1 billion in North American sales in 26 months, faster than any franchise before it.
So Activision did what Activision does. Annualize.
In 2009 alone they shipped Guitar Hero 5, Band Hero, DJ Hero, and Guitar Hero editions for Metallica, Van Halen, and Smash Hits. Six music games in twelve months.
That playbook works for Call of Duty because a sequel only asks for $60. A Guitar Hero sequel asked you to justify the $100 plastic guitar already in your closet, and every new SKU competed with the last one on the same shelf. Genre revenue went from $1.7 billion in 2008 to about $300 million in 2010. Activision shut down RedOctane, then the whole Guitar Hero business unit.
They strip-mined ten years of demand into three.
Now the Huang brothers are back as advisors at a revived RedOctane, the studio head is a Guitar Hero veteran, and Stage Tour launches December 10 with 90 licensed songs and 180 real Gibson guitars. Fifteen years of untouched demand, and the people who invented the genre finally get a second run at it.
